What does this sentence part mean?

Keep your thoughts , your beliefs, and your ideas to yourself, or to what you might want to say some day, some place, to someone! Do not let your ego stifle the student's ego.

The above words are a piece of suggestion given to teachers to help students write articles!

I am quite confused by the part in red!

What does it mean? Thanks!

It also seems to me like dubious advice. I'm not sure you can write an article without expressing your thoughts.

I read it as meaning that the teacher shouldn't impose his or her thoughts, not that the students writing the articles shouldn't express theirs.

Hi,

Thank you very much. I read it quickly and carelessly.

My comment about 'poorly written/poorly said' still stands, but I withdraw my comment about it being dubious advice.
