what does this mean?

1 Try to write clearer.

Does this mean your handwriting is illegible or that you have a hard time expressing yourself?

Hello alc24, well in my experience clearer normally means understandable but I have seen some really bad handwriting by some students so it could go either way. But like I said before it would normally mean to be more understandable. I hope this helps.

For either meaning, it should really be "Try to write more clearly."
