What does the long second sentence mean?

Hi,

I can't get the exact essence of the 2nd part.

While some traditional brands faced the brave new world by extending the usage of and applications for their products, others, such as Brand’s (essence of chicken) by Cerebos Pacific, decided that a radical revitalisation of the brand was necessary. The revitalisation meant not just extending the product format from the traditional tonic drink to the more portable and palatable caplets, but also reinventing the brand proposition and venturing out of the “essence of chicken” category into new health supplements which did not contain any “chicken essence”.

Regards,

It means that brand revitalisation, as carried out by Cerebos Pacific, encompassed format change as well as adding new products aimed at replacing existing ones. It's clear from the paragraph that it's exactly this addition of new products what makes this revitalisation radical.
