What does "single" mean here? ONE AND ONLY?

Context:

HOLLYWOOD -- With Tuesday's release of sixth studio album Push and Shove, No Doubt resurfaces on a radically altered landscape. The Southern California quartet that ruled the airwaves with 1995'sTragic Kingdom released its last studio album 11 years ago, before the arrival of YouTube,Twitter, Facebook and the iTunes Store. The iPod had been out one month.
First Push single Settle Down, a signature blend of pop-rock, ska and dancehall, impressed critics, found a toehold at radio and suggests the foursome still holds sway with the masses.

It seems in-artfully worded but probably means this:
a short record or CD featuring one main one song or track.

So Settle Down is the first single to be released from the complete album.

In the old days, a single was a 45 rpm vinyl record having one song on each side, the A side and the B side. The best song on an album, a much larger 33 1/3 rpm vinyl record, was pressed as the A side of a single to be sold as such, with the B side often being of little value. The A side was expected to be played on the radio, and copies of the single were sent to the radio stations.
