what does "run of house" mean?

what i could search on google was that ROH means available whatever the rooms we request. but what i m not clear is that all available rooms can be better standard or lower standard. please explain me about it.

In the US this is not used in the sense of available rooms, rather it means a person has the use of a house as though he were the owner, for example: Bob let me stay with him when I was in LA. I had the run of the house while I was there.
