What does "restricting" mean in this sentence?

I found this sentence on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhythm_method:

"These systems may be used to achieve pregnancy, by timing unprotected intercourse for days identified as fertile, or to avoid pregnancy, by restricting unprotected intercourse to days identified as infertile."

In this sentence does "restricting unprotected intercourse to days identified as infertile" mean you should NOT have unprotected sex on those days or that you should restrict unprotected sex to those days of infertility?

I appreciate any and all replies.

The text says that to avoid pregnancy, you should only have unprotected intercourse on infertile days. In the sense of limiting unprotected *** to the infertile days. But I wouldn't rely on that method...

The latter. "Restricted to the enclosed area" means you must be in the enclosed area.

"Restricted from the enclosed area" means you must not be in the enclosed area.

Unprotected *** must be limited to the infertiledays.

Good day

To my own understanding and also to my own perspective , in that sentence the word RESTRICTING simply means avoiding or on the other way round saying NO to unprotected (without condom)*** during the days maybe when you are having your monthly period .
