I guess here it means to keep an information in your memory
Because the other one wont make sense here
I wonder why there is one word for bringing back a piece of information into mind and to keep a piece a piece of information in your memory.
In my language there are two different words for both the cases.

No. Here it's "bring back information from your mind". Also, "recall" can be used for this meaning of "remember".
"Do you remember when my birthday is?" has the other meaning: "keep information in your mind". "know" is fairly similar.
