I searched Urban Dictionary and found the following definitions:
Pick'em:
1. An event, usually occurring in Physical Education. Used to select teams for recreational sports in class. A captain is usually selected for each team, and they pick a player to join their team. The more popular or more athletic students are usually picked early, while the unfit and unpopular are usually picked last. Nobody EVER wants to be picked last, as it is seen as demeaning.
2. When there is no favorite team (both teams are considered to have an equal chance of winning the contest) the 'point spread' is a 'PK' ('Pick' or 'pick'em') in which case there is no point spread. In a 'PK' you may wager on either team to win risking $110 to win $100. If the team wagered upon wins, your wager is a winner.
Which of them define 'pick'em' correctly? Or they are both wrong?
