What does 'ours'refers to?

A climate change is simply: change in climate. What we should understand here is that climate as used in the title of this lesson refers not to the climate of any particular country of part of the world. It refers to the entire climate of this earth of ours.

In the passage, what does the word 'ours' refer to? Thanks in advance.

It's just a possessive, eg this book of Tom's means this book that belongs to Tom. eg this earth of ours means this earth that belongs to us. The writer is saying that we all have a responsibility to take care of our planet.
