What does "Mary wove her way to the well" mean?

Does it mean "Mary story was made to convince believers"?

Context:

One can imagine there was talk about trusting in God and that maybe in their lifetime he would send a Messiah. The Jews, as they became more and more oppressed, may have became more and more obsessed with God. They may have thought that this could be the time for the Saviour to come. And it was in this highly charged theological atmosphere that Mary wove her way to the well, perhaps holding in her arms the infant Jesus.

Hi No, I think it is to be taken literally ... "Wove her way" - walked, perhaps in a weary, dreamy or casual way "To the well" - to the nearest place where she could get water I think the meaning of the sentence is only that Mary, in many ways, was like any other mother of her time and her place. It would be her job to fetch water and sometimes she would take her baby with her Hope this helps Dave

Perhaps the streets were narrow, crooked and crowded, so she could not go to the well by walking on a straight pathway.
