Live on love means subsist on love.

It appears to mean nothing in that dialogue; Are you sure the expression was not 'live off'?

He lived out his days in the little cottage by the sea. = He lived there until he died.

I think it could just about make sense if love is considered a way of life. However, unless it is faithfully copied from a reliable source, I agree that more likely it is supposed to say "live on" or "live off", i.e. the person is asking how they will support themselves financially.

It is also not very clear in this transcription who is saying what.

I checked another source and it's live on not live out, live on in this context seems to mean to live on something. Thanks everyone!
