What does it mean to say that something "skews light"?

I saw it on a cosmetic forum, it's about a foundation. Here I quote some of its original context:

" It seems to really skew light---if you are fair-skinned you will have more luck with this line than if you are medium-skinned"

What does to "skew" light at this point?

I also looked it up in the dictionary, guess it means to gear light toward the face?So when the foundation is applied onto the face, it sort of makes your skin glow, is my guess correct?

Skew means to alter the angle of something. So it means it will cause light to reflect off of your face rather differently, though not to be taken literally - it is merely trying to suggest that it will have a dramatic impact on your appearance and that you will stand out.
