Does it mean when B increases, A also increases but not as much? Ex. If B goes up by 20, A goes up by less than 20?

It depends on the proportion. Suppose that's 2.

Suppose A increases like this: 5, 7, 9, 14, 25, 36
Then B increases like this: ...... 10, 14, 18, 50, 72

(B is always 2 times A.)

So if A is increasing less than that, the two increase something like this:
A: 5, 6, 8, 12, 20, 28
B: 10, 14, 18, 50, 72
