What does it mean exactly by 'next time around'?

Does anyone know how to use this expression in context? I understand perfectly well the meaning of 'next time', but why should 'around' be added? Is it a kind of informal particle that shows modality of some kind? If so, is it hesitation?

Your assessment is basically correct. However, it doesn't show hesitation. It conveys the meaning that next time refers to some kind of cyclical event. ('A wheel comes around again and again')

A salesman visits his client and, on leaving, says 'I'll see you next time around', meaning on his next regular visit.

For some good reason, Tom has to say good-bye forever to his true love, Mary, so he says to her 'Good-bye Mary, I'll see you next time around'. He means that they will meet again in the future when they both return in another life. Tom is a very romantic guy!
