what does it mean 'curve'

Can you say 'curve down' and curve up' or does curve imply pointing downwards?
Which of these are possible?

My fingernails curve downwards/down.
My fingernails curve upwards/up.
My fingernails point upwards/up.
My fingernails curve. (Does this mean 'point downwards'?

Since fingernails are usually viewed from above, with palms facing down, it is very natural to say that the nail in the picture you linked curves upward/upwards. Curves up is also acceptable, but is not as commonly used in my area.

Point usually means straight in one direction, rather than the gentle change in direction
