What does it mean?

i read a passage about someone's ideas about airplane here is a sentence that i couldn't understand.

"What I hate about airplanes is pretty much everything else."

i gause that he wanted to state his hate to airplane is very much, more than every thing. am i right? please help me.

No, I don't think that's what he means. Was there another sentence before this one? "Everything else" means everything except one, or several, specific things that he has mentioned. He needs to say what those specific things are.

For example, if I say "I don't drink milkshakes much. I like strawberry, but I hate everything else", it's clear what I do like (strawberry), and the "everything else" means all the other milkshake flavours. But simply saying "I hate everything else" with no context is meaningless.

If there is no previous sentence, the only thing he mentions specifically is "airplanes", so he could be saying that what he hates about airplanes is everything except airplanes, which doesn't make much sense. If he meant to say that, he would have said it in a different way I think.

So the answer is probably in the previous sentence. In relation to airplanes, he hates everything else - that is, everything apart from the things he mentioned in the previous sentence.
