He's oriental. It means he is from the 'Far East'. (eg China, Korea, Japan, etc.) This was formerly often referred to as the Orient. Today we tend to say Asia or Eastern Asia, and to refer to such people as Asians or by their nationality, eg he's Chinese.

Some people feel that 'Oriental' is now a negatively racist term.
