What does invested mean?
Hi,
"He asked Cindy why she was so invested in Emmy and Adam's relationship. Cindy said because she had always believed Emmy and Adam's love was so strong it would withstand any trial."
I would like to know what 'invested' mean here, Thanks.

Both speakers appear to understand the word, but Cindy's answer convinces me she has it all wrong. It makes no sense to me in this context. There's a logical link missing.
