As far as I know 'hold on' has two meanings.
One is when two people are having a phone conversation and one of them says : hold on = wait a minute.
Another is when 2 people are holding at the 2 ends of a rope and one of them says: hold on = hold tight.
Am I right?
Does it have any other meaning?
