What does "for good and bad" mean in this sentence?

There are different versions of the Turing test, all of which are revealing as to why our approach to the culture and ethics of A.I. is what it is, for good and bad.

Hello everyone! I came to this sentence when I read a passage which suggests the current AI studies has a wrong understanding of "intelligent". I just feel confused about the underlined part. Does that mean the approach will lead to both good and bad outcomes?

Thanks!
