I understand it to mean a farming operation which is highly automated -- big business. Eg, egg production with the hens in very small cages with the lights on 24-7 and the eggs carried away automatically by some sort of conveying system to an area where they're washed, tested, and sorted, and packaged automatically.

Hi,

Thank you. And I have another question if you don't mind. Is US 66 the known Route 66?

"The photograph shows a family hitch-hiking from Joplin, Missouri to a sawmill job in Arizona and was taken on US 66 near Weatherford, western Oklahoma."

Yes, "US 66" and "Route 66" both refer to the famous road of legend and song and a TV series.
