What does "dx with" mean? "Diagnosed with"?

Context:

I am truly sorry for the vicious assault on Dr. Wessely. Rigorous scientific methods will out this neuro immune disease and it's many subgroups. I hope so. People are dying. My son died when he was 23. He was dx with CFS at age 9 and then again at age 15. We have our own online memorial pages and memorial services.

'Dx' seems actually to be doctor's shorthand for 'diagnosis', so the writer is being a little free with its grammar, but yes: 'diagnosed' in your sentence.
