What does duality mean?

Googled definition says it's an instance of opposition or contrast between two concepts or two aspects of something; a dualism.

But "wave-particle duality" principle to light says that for some purposes, a small enough amount of light behaves like a particle; and for other purposes, it behaves like a wave.

See there is no contrast. Wave and particle rather are two different things not contrary
