What does it mean when the hairstylist cuts your hair choppy?

Hi, It's a slangy way of saying that the length is very uneven in places where most people would expect it to be even. I said 'most people' because eg people who like a 'punk' hair-style want it to be uneven and 'choppy'. Clive
