What does cc mean

Hello could you explain to me what "cc" means and when it should be used? TIA

What do you mean major?

cc: is short for "carbon copy."
It means "a duplicate of this message/letter will be sent (has been sent) to this list of people"

By major I meant the studying field.
What AS said is fine although I prefer "will be sent" one.
PS: " to this list of E-mail addresses".

Use it for people who may want to KNOW about the communication but who do not have to DO anything as a result of the message.

You will also find "bcc:" which is short for "blind carbon copy."
These people will also be sent a copy, but no one on the "to:" or "cc:" list will see the "bcc" list of addresses or names.
