What does "blogging gig" mean? Does it mean "blogging maintenance"?

Context:

The title of his talk is “Tissue Engineering and STAP Cells”.
It is part of the Brigham and Women’s http://www.brighamandwomens.org/research/centers/regenerative_medicine/seminar_series.aspx?sub=1 Online registration is required to attend. (hat tip to blog reader)
Anyone planning to go and possibly interested in a guest blogging gig on the seminar?
In principle based on the online registration form it seems that the public can attend.
Given all the controversy surrounding STAP cells, it will be interesting to see if the event proceeds as planned or is cancelled. I bet it will not be cancelled. If it goes forward, I’d imagine there will be an almost endless stream of questions at the end.
