What does blog mean in "political blogs"?

This word is frequently used in the 2004 U.S. presidential campain website. But I don't quite get it. Could anyone explain it in detail?
Thank you very much.

"blog" is an abbreviation for "web log". Google it. The web is crawling with them.

Having said that, I've got no idea what that has to do with presidential campaigns. Could be that WHL was spot on and you should ignore me.

It's "political blog" alright. Apparently, it means a political web log. You can find a directory of political blogs in this site: http://directory.etalkinghead.com/ . HTH
