I don't see how one being not indifferent leads to one having no ambition.
I think there are two possible sentences.
1) If you are not indifferent, you have ambition.
2) If you are indifferent, you have no ambition.

I agree. It seems to make little sense. Unless there is some cryptic or unexpected explanation within a special context, it seems probable that the meaning of it has been lost in the translation.
