What do you think are the problems of making films based on books ????
  • Sometimes the central idea is not well emphasized in the script.
  • The details are forgotten in many movies.
  • Some characters might not be so relevant. Mainly the less important

Money talks... directors will, I think turn a book into a film if the author is well known, and the rest depends on the directors style, the way he sees things through his eyes. Just my opinion!

In my opinion most books that are made into films aren't worth that good. As you already said the central idea is often forgotten. The author's purpose get's forgotten. It's important for the director to make money, so things get changed. The suspense is often pushed and so the film differs from the book.
