Hi !
I saw in movie one sentence that I want you to check my interpretation.
"This guy came here to steal wizzard necklas" - (in movie this guys is still chassing this wizzard in present situation) So I guess past simple is used here to emphasize the past action that "he came here" but not the word "to steal necklas"
If I would use a present perfect would it be also correct ? emphasizing the present situation of "comming here and still chassing the wizzard" ?
Or the present prefect would have a different meaning here ?
" Xenon02 If I would use a present perfect would it be also correct ? In this context, the main difference between "came here" and "has come here" is that "has come here" more specifically indicates that he is still here. "came here" does not preclude this possibility, but could also be used about an event further back in the past, after he has left.
