"What do you think..."

Hi,

A friend of mine told me that the following sentence is not correct:

What do you think are the benefits of exercising?
Rather, it should be written like this:

What do you think the benefits of exercising are?
I was wondering if this is accurate. If so, why?

I would have phrased it the first way but then I'm old enough to be one of those who had tattooed on their brains: "NEVER end a sentence in a preposition!"

That rule has been relaxed. These days even Oxford says it’s OK to end in a preposition.
