"What do you think?"

Hi, sorry to burden you all with another question, and also a belated thanks to those who helped me on the last one (sorry, it slipped my mind to thank you as I ought to have done in the thread).

In the question "What do you think?" Is "you" the object, since it is the agency is placed with the question-asker?

Hello, Richard-- and welcome to English Forums. No, you cannot step outside the sentence to other sentences or into reality to determine a grammatical component of a sentence. 'You' is the subject of your sentence, and 'what' is the object.
