What do you do for living

When you see somebody after a long time, and want to know what job he is doing, how we say that in spoken English?

What do you do for living?
What is your job?

What are you doing now?

If somebody asked me this question, I would understand he is asking what I'm doing at this moment. I don't understand it as if he is asking about my job.

I think you should ask:

What are you doing these days?

Keep in mind though that, I am learning English my self so I might be wrong.

Then you need to understand it as either one: it depends on the situation.
