What do we call it?

Hi! everyone.
Could you tell me what do we call it when a physiotherapist tries to encourage his patient(with fairly crooked or bandy legs) to press ahead with his exercise by saying "You are doing good, your legs are a lot better than earlier and they are straightening out quickly" although they are not improving that much. Is it called giving him mental satisfaction?
Thanks!

Hi, Silak.
There is a therapy called "EMDR"- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing.

I put forward a technique(EMDR) that is used in Physiotherapy, which may not be the appropriate answer for your question. In simple English, Mr. Micawber's comment is the appropriate answer to your question.
