what do u guys think about business?

Is anybody really interested in business and how is it interesting? Lots of people learn business in University or colledge, but lots of them learn it because it is easy for business people to find a job after graduate.  When i'm trying to learn accounting, i found it is boring!  but i might have to learn business in university, does anyone can tell me how can i be interested in business?

Hi Candice,

I used to think business was boring. But now I find it as interesting as, say, human geography or sociology. Business is about a fascinating aspect of human behavior.

Accounting can be fun, esp. if you think about all the possible ways you can tweak or get around the rules to maximize your profit. (You mean the recent accounting scandals didn't interest you?) But now the Americans have Sarbanes-Oxley...

Business to me is like a board game. You win some, you lose some and you should always be on your toes.

Business is such a vast subject that to say it is boring would be like saying 'science' or 'sport' were boring. There are many aspects and fields which different people will find more interesting than others (I hated biology and was bored by chemistry but liked physics........so could I say I hate science or find it boring?).

I too studied accounting at university, and there were aspects I found boring and others I found really interesting. Looking at numbers all day isn't my thing, and I would personally have found that boring, so I specialised in things I really enjoyed and found incredibly interesting. To me the management side of accounting is really interesting. I also used to work in the currency markets protecting the company I worked for from currency fluctuation risks.......which again I found incredibly interesting. I think as with anything there will be aspects to business you find boring, and others you would find really interesting. If you genuinely believe 'business' is boring, then I genuinely believe there must be aspects to business you haven't discovered yet. It's similar to saying 'I don't like football or rugby so I hate sport!'

i don't like biology or chemstry either~but i like physics~also, i like math too~that;s why i'm going to choose business in university~ yeah, i think ur point is quit good! caz i'm the person who can learn literacy or science. so i really need to find something that interested me in business since i have to take it. maybe number is boring part in business just like accounting.  will management be interesting? i don't know why i know nothing about business but just took it~sign....maybe i should know what about business caz business is so large~ but i think doing business, organazation skill is important.
