But I'm not a native speaker of english and I'm trying to improve my English. I have doubt getting some meanings from the dictionary especially when I feel they may have several different meanings. As you know, we have to comprehend and get the meaning from the context. Sometimes I feel like not understanig the whole text especially if the topic is new to me, so I need some help and that's why I post the whole examples not just words. Hope you understand me

But let me explain it to you..

Two weeks ago I wanted to know the meaning of the word "off" in the following sentence:

.If you begin your reading by asking the type of question you met in this unit, you will be off to a good start.

I looked up my dictionary and got the following meanings:

1.Off and on; on and off sometimes, but not all the time.

2.No longer fresh.

3.Unfriendly.

As you can see non of the meanings suit the sentence. so I posted the sentence on here and got shocked when I saw the answer .. It was "On your way"

I am really sorry that you wasted your time, but I didn't get your response and I am in a rush to finish studying my IELTS Course .. It is a big course as you know and has a variety of different subjects. As a matter of fact I'm doing my best to finish it as soon as possible.
