What do "a new kind" and "the experience" refer back to in these texts?

1. "Transhumans" are defined as a new species that the human might eventually become, a new kind of being transcending human limits in all forms.

2. The most important characteristic of the Eastern world view is the awareness of the unity and mutual interrelation of all thing and events, the experience of all phenomena in the world as manifestations of a basic oneness.

I think in sentence 1,"a new kind" is referring back to "Transhumans" and in sentence 2, "the experience" is referring back to "the awareness".

Am I right?
