What direction take to work

Hi

If someone says: I'm wondering what direction take to work, does it mean how to approach my work or how to get to my work, which route to take, or maybe both?

You haven't written it quite properly; I suppose you mean these: I'm wondering what direction to take to work -- This would mean that he is unsure of the geographical location of his workplace or of the most efficient way to reach it. I'm wondering what direction to take in/with my work -- This means that he is unsure of how his tasks should progress.
