What's the difference between "at a purpose" / "to a purpose"? What's the correct form? thank u

I know "for a certain purpose" and "on purpose", but I'm afraid I've never heard of the expressions you posted.

The only thing I could find in a dictionary is the following, but I'm not sure it will be of help:

1. "To little/no/some/good purpose": with little/no/some/good result.

2. "To the purpose": according to the dictionary, this is an old-fashioned expression which means "useful; very much connected with the subject".

I hope someone else can find more complete information.
