What difference are DNS and DDNS ?

Could anyone tell me what difference are DNS and DDNS ?

DDNS = Dynamic Domain Name System (networking) DNS = Domain Name System; Domain Name Server/Service; Domain Naming System But I suppose you are speaking of practical differences. I have no idea. I found this, though: Dynamic DNS is a service allowing users to alias their dynamic IP address to a static domain name.
