What did you choose that book to be read to out of for?

Regarding this famous question a kid asked someone who had brought a book to read to the kid, "What did you choose that book to be read to out of for?", is it possible for the kid to have asked this question instead:
"What did you choose that book to be read to for?"

Top answer

", This version doesn't work for me. "What did you choose that book for me to be read to out of for" might work (in the very contrived way intended). ".

  • ", This version doesn't work for me.
  • "What did you choose that book for me to be read to out of for" might work (in the very contrived way intended).
  • ".
  • Again, this has the reference to "me" needed to make sense of "read to".
  • " Doesn't work for me.

This version doesn't work for me. "What did you choose that book for me to be read to out of for" might work (in the very contrived way intended). The original, as far as I can tell, is "What did you bring me that book to be read to out of for?". Again, this has the reference to "me"

Those "work" in the convoluted way intended (they are not good English, especially the first).
