What can I say about the first and most important limitation?

I am writing an article about manufacturing techniques. These techniques have a common limitation. How can I describe it as the first and most important limitation? Here is the sentence:

"Although many techniques have been developed to achieve this integration, each of them has limitations. The most to be considered is ........."

I believe there should be something better to say, instead of saying "The most to be considered is ..."
