What can be the meaning of "I take a car to school"?

What can be the meaning of "I take a car to school"? For instance,I wanted to drive to school but my dad insisted that he would drive me there, so all i can say is" i take a car to school today", just like i say "I take a bus to school." right? Or there are more expressions for this situation.

Top answer

I took a car to school today. This is not natural, and sounds very odd. We take eg a taxi / train / plane, / bus , which are all things we pay for.
