What are you gonna have?

Hi. I would like to know...

If I'm in a restaurant with someone, can I then ask "What are you gonna have (to eat)?"?

Thank you in advance.

Yes, but even though for many speakers "going to" tends to become "gonna" in speech, in writing it is a low-grade contraction. Avoid writing "gonna" unless you deliberately want a very casual or slangy effect. Normally you should write "going to".
