What are the ways of saying faring well/badly

Hi,
I want to know what are the ways of saying to fare well or badly against somebody or something.

I mainly interested in the use of: stack up, go off, come out, come off and make out and parks pale by comparison. If you know some other verbs/expressions, they are more than welcome. I care more about definitions than example sentences.
