What are the terms for these two?

If you have a skin infection, and it is necessary that you go see a dermatologist which makes you unable to go to work, is the phrasal verb for it still called, "to call in sick" then?

And what about...unable to go to work because you have something urgent to do regarding family/home?

Thank you

"Go see" is used in American English but, outside the US, it is go and see.
