Competing between senior workers and younger people has been a cause for concern in the industrial society, which leads to multitude of problems. Therefore, to tackle those severe issues, some feasible solutions should be taken into consideration.
To begin with, the more competitive job market is, the more difficulties both young people and older ones have to deal with. First of all, the high rate of unemployment among just-graduates. It is an uphill task for graduated students to secure a job due to the lack of work experience, which is a vital factor in making a favorable impression on potential employers. Hence, a significant number of students graduating from colleges or universities are between jobs resulting in some severe social problems such as mugging, pick pocketing which put the safety of society into jeopardy. Secondly, many older workers are struggling to make ends meet owning to minimum wages. To be more specific, the fear of being made redundant because of the emergence of younger workforce makes senior workers accept to work with low salary and modest benefits. Hence, they are undergoing hard ship in their life.
To alleviate the impacts of this issue, some measures should be put into practice. The first solution is that companies should encourage those people to do job-shares. In order words, it is advisable that the managers of companies consider the option of hiring both young and old people so that they can take advantage of not only young people's energy and creativity but also senior workers' experience, knowledge. The second one is to motivate young generation to enrich their knowledge. To be more detailed, it is a must for junior people to enroll in refresher courses, evening classes, soft skill courses if they want to be qualified enough for the position that they have an intention to apply for. As a matter of fact, those courses are likely to equip with required knowledge and skills when it comes to seeking a job.
