What and Would. Is the following sentence correct? I'm always confused with

why "what & would" can go together in a question. Thank you in advance for your explaination.

I have all of the ordinances since 2003 related to the UDC and UDC that adopted since 2002 scanned. What would you like me to do next?

The first sentence is a little strange. I don't know what kind of ordinances you are talking about or what UDC is, but I think you want something like the following. I'm really not sure what you're trying to say, though.

If it helps any, this sentence...

"What would you like me to do next?"

...means essentially the same thing as this sentence...

"What do you want me to do next?"

The difference is that 'would you like' makes the question more polite and less direct than 'do you want'.

"Would you like to dance?"

"Do you want to dance?"
