Wh-qestion

When comparing two persons, I think that “who” should be used:
"Who is taller, Tom Cruise or Alain Delon?"

But when comparing a human and an animal, which sounds better:
"Who is stronger, Tom Cruise or a bear?"
or
"Which is stronger, Tom Cruise or a bear?"

Or more precisely, should I say something like:
Who or which is stronger, Tom Cruise or a bear?

Instead of resorting to somewhat irritating attempts at precision, we often just reword to avoid such problems. eg Is Tom Cruise stronger than a bear?
