WESTERGREN

Ok people, i have this practical in my medical education for determining ESR which we do by a method called Westergren's method. off course its after the name of the guy who first did it. I was wondering what the right way is for pronouncing this name WESTERGREN. is it WestergrUn or WestergrAIN or maybe something else. help me on this one.

I know nothing about the method but the name looks distinctively Scandinavian, Swedish to be exact. If it is Swedish and you want to pronounce the name the way the man himself pronounced it, it is ['vestergre:n]. The stress is on the first syllable and the initial w is pronounced as the v in veal.
